You would have be fired asap in the States
for that kind of attitude, CEOs DON&#039;T tell
their software engineers there is a bug in
_their_ code. I don&#039;t care how good or
arrogant the software engineer is.
My guess is: that it&#039;s harder to fire people
in Europe.</description>

We&#039;ve set up a team in our company, composed mainly of leads and other key people, that aims to help people understand the benefits of adopting the Agile approach and practices. The most popular turned out to be the daily scrum, planning poker and we are now implementing unit testing.

In the beginning, people used to be rather skeptic and reserved regarding to the new ideas, but as time passed, we&#039;ve all managed to understand the principles and adopt the practices that were really helpful for us at the given time. However, I think the greatest challenge is to &quot;convert&quot; the Product Management and Marketing departments to the Agile way of thinking, estimating and planning.</description>

But companies, especially the hi-tech ones often getting on the agile bandwagon, are often already used to distance relationships that they see no need to try agile with collocated teams first or, at least, distributed in a couple locations and within reasonable time zone difference.

I know of some teams, just into agile for a few months, where they are across 3 continents and the Scrummasters in a couple cases are actually all alone in their location, i.e., they are not collocated with any of the other team members.</description>

As you said, they guy may be good but his arrogance exceeded his skills.  I see that all the time.

I look at bugs as a learning experience.  They help you write better unit tests, help you rethink your approach, and improve process.</description>
